NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Eric Trump faced a wave of ridicule on social media after he mistakenly identified a large crowd gathered for President Joe Biden's motorcade as supporters of his father, Donald Trump.

Sharing a video clip on X (formerly Twitter) of numerous people behind a barricade on a blocked-off Manhattan road as the crowd filmed Biden's motorcade with their phones, Eric wrote, "It was a beautiful scene pulling back up to Trump Tower! Such unbelievable love!"

However, none of the individuals in the clip were sporting Trump merchandise, hats, or flags.

Eric Trump's previous exaggerations

The incident follows another recent episode where Eric was mocked for his exaggerated claims about attendance at one of Trump's rallies, according to OK Magazine.

The former first son claimed that "100,000 people" attended the former president's father's New Jersey rally on May 11.

On Fox News' 'The Ingraham Angle', Eric claimed, "They wanna take my father down in New York. They wanna do it civilly, they wanna do it criminally, they wanna do it in Georgia, they want to try to do it in Washington, D.C."

"When you see Wildwood on Saturday, where he has 100,000 people show up. 100,000 people. I mean, Bruce Springsteen can’t pull half of that amount!" he said.

In the same program in February, Eric defended his father's impact on New York City, saying, "My father built a skyline of New York City. And this is the thanks he gets for doing absolutely nothing wrong, not a dollar of financial loss? The exact opposite, hundreds of millions of dollars in financial gain."

"I caution anybody. I caution anybody even thinking about moving to New York to just be careful. This is not the state that my father grew up in. This is not the state that we grew up in. This is the demise of a politically weaponized system. And it’s horribly sad," he added.

However, Eric was slammed online for claiming that his "father built the skyline of New York City.”

Eric Trump mocked after confusing Joe Biden's motorcade crowd for his father Donald Trump's supporters

Eric's discrepancy quickly caught the attention of netizens who pointed out his misinterpretation of Biden's motorcade crowd for his father's supporters.

One user wrote, "Funny, that's Joe Biden's recent motorcade," while another user tweeted, "They weren’t there as supporters. They were stuck there because the police closed the road while the motorcade came through."

"You should always coordinate with your Dad before posting. BTW, that video clip was of Biden's visit to New York," a netizen commented.

"These god amn Trumps are incapable of ever telling the truth. Everything they tweet is complete and utter b******t," a user tweeted.

"Funny you should say that. Notice the lack of hats and MAGA flags? That's because this was filmed last month when Biden visited that area," a user wrote.
