Erika Kirk posts emotional clip on Instagram of Charlie Kirk telling their daughter how her parents met

PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Charlie Kirk's wife, Erika, shared an emotional clip on Instagram where the conservative icon was seen explaining to their daughter how her parents met.

The 31-year-old conservative leader was shot in the neck while attending a university event in Utah on September 10. He later died after being rushed to the hospital. The shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested two days later by law enforcement officials.

Erika Kirk shared the video with the caption, "… my favorite love story." The clip showed Charlie telling their daughter how he first met Erika.

"Storytime. We're here at Bill's Burgers in New York City. Right near this very table was the first time that I met Mama," Kirk told his daughter.

He added, "It started as a job interview. I was asking all these questions, asking all these questions, philosophy, religion, Jesus. Then I realized Mama was beautiful and smart and elegant and Christlike. I said, Forget this job interview. I. I said, I have enough friends. That's where your journey started."

Erika and Charlie met in 2018 and then had a "very long dinner." Charlie said at the time that he knew "almost immediately" that she was the one.

On September 5, 2023, Erika posted a selfie with Charlie, marking five years since the two first met.

She wrote, "5 years ago today, we sat inside Bill's Burgers in NYC deep in conversation and banter over theology, philosophy, and politics and at the end, you paused, looked at me and said, ‘I'm going to date you.'" Both Erika and Charlie openly talked about the importance of dating with intention, something they did when they met.

Charlie proposed to Erika in December 2020, and they got married in May 2021.

Several internet users offered love and prayers to Erika in the comment section of the Instagram video where Charlie Kirk was seen telling his daughter how he met her mother.

One Instagram comment read, "We are praying for you" while one added, "The greatest love story this world will ever know."

A person also stated, "Love love love you and this sweet friend. Thank you for sharing—beautiful," whereas another wrote, "One thing is for sure, she’ll never grow up doubting how much he loved you.
