WASHINGTON, DC: Days after the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooting on Saturday, April 25, the CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk, has now slammed journalists for recording the horrifying development at the Washington Hilton.
An annual gala hosted by White House Correspondents' Association was organized to celebrate journalism and attended by over 2,000 guests.
Erika Kirk slams journalists for recording WHCD firing
Appearing on the Charlie Kirk Show, the 37-year-old widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk criticized the reporters for shooting the firing and trying to put “themselves in the story, which ironically breaks the number 1 rule of journalism.”
While criticizing reporters for trying to have the clip of the firing, Erika claimed reporters were "so concerned about getting a video in a room with an active shooter, that they could have accidentally and quite literally filmed themselves being shot."
“Many of those people have become so desensitized that fight or flight became secondary to the opportunity of putting themselves into the story," she added.

Erika Kirk also revealed that there was only one reason that led her to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner the other evening. She said she wanted to face journalists who have been dehumanizing her for months.
"Too many journalists have done everything they can to dehumanize me for months, and I wanted to look them in the eye."
She said she wanted to meet face-to-face with some of them. “Why have a conversation about me when you can have a conversation with me,” she added.
A viral video of Erika Kirk shows her visibly shaken and in tears as she was abruptly escorted out of the Washington Hilton when a gunman opened fire. “I just want to go home. I just want to go home,” she said.

Shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner
The dinner hall was rocked with the sound of gunshots soon after Trump joined other guests for the annual correspondents’ dinner at the Washington Hilton building.
A 31-year-old teacher, Cole Allen, stormed the security checkpoint, engaging in a firefight with security personnel, hitting one of the service agents with a bullet.
Nearly 2,000 guests, including journalists and high-profile administration members, were gathered for the annual WHCD bash at the Washington Hilton Hotel when the sound of gunshots left attendees panicked and anxious, and many rushed under the table for safety.
