F1 star Charles Leclerc says he bonded with Timothee Chalamet over 'FaceTime', never met in person

CANNES, FRANCE: Formula 1 Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who recently made his debut at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, revealed in an interview that he already shares a virtual friendship with actor Timothee Chalamet.

Leclerc said they know each other through mutual connections and stay in touch online. He also expressed a wish to meet Chalamet on a Cannes red carpet in the future. 

Rather than distant admiration, Leclerc described it as an existing virtual friendship, adding a surprising Formula 1-Hollywood crossover. The revelation quickly drew attention from fans across both motorsport and entertainment circles.

“So with Timothee, we talk and know each other through FaceTime because we have a friend in common, but every time we plan to see each other, something happens, and we end up not meeting," said Leclerc.
