Fact Check: Did Bad Bunny sustain injury during rehearsal ahead of Super Bowl LX halftime show?

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ahead of Super Bowl LX, where Bad Bunny is set for a much talked about halftime performance, a video has been circulating on social media showing the Puerto Rican rapper limping during rehearsals. 

The video has been spread with the claim that he has sustained a minor injury. Let us analyse the video and test the claim.

Claim: Bad Bunny injured during Super Bowl show rehearsal

With the Super Bowl LX set to happen on Sunday, February 8, a video circulating on social media shows Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, popularly known as Bad Bunny, rehearsing.

In the clip, he is seen jumping side to side before his leg seemingly buckles. 

He then slowly limps off the stage. The video has been circulating with the claim that the rapper has sustained soft tissue injury.

A post on X shared the video, stating “HEARTBREAKING: During rehearsals next to the Levi’s Stadium Power Substation, Bad Bunny appears to have sustained a soft tissue injury.”

“He’s listed as day to day with the possibility of IR.”

The video was posted on Saturday, February 7, and has garnered almost two million views and hundreds of shares as publication of this article.

Fact Check: The video is from last year

The claim, however, is false.

The video is from early September 2025, where Bad Bunny appears injured during a concert performance in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

According to USA Today, it happened as he was hitting moves at his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí (I Don’t Want to Leave Here) residency at Coliseo de Puerto, on September 5.

There was no update about the injury, but according to local reports, the concert went on after that.

Bad Bunny's controversial Super Bowl halftime show

Bad Bunny is currently focused on performing at the Super Bowl. He previously shared his excitement about the show, saying, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself…”

He described the performance as a win for his community, noting, “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown.”

The artist is facing heavy political criticism, most notably from President Donald Trump.

While the president attended last year’s game, he has ruled out a trip to Super Bowl LX, criticizing the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny and Green Day as “terrible.” During an interview, Trump stated, “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice.”

Despite the controversy, he added, “This is for my people, my culture, and our history.”
