Claim: Barack Obama 'logged into' the West Wing as 'Joe Time' on 310 days in 2024

In July 2025, a rumor circulated online claiming that former President Obama "logged into" the West Wing of the White House as "Joe Time" on 310 days in 2024.

The mention of "Joe Time" referenced former President Joe Biden, who served as vice president under Obama from 2009 to 2017, before taking office in 2021.

An X user posted on July 7, "310 days in the West Wing. “Joe Time” from 8 to 4. Barack Obama wasn’t just visiting—he was clocking in. So, who’s really been running the show in 2024? The name on the door might say Biden ,but... "

The post also displayed a meme showing pictures of Obama and Biden, reading, "Barack Obama logged into the West Wing on 310 out of 365 days in 2024. His entry is listed as 'Joe Time.' His 'Joe Time' lasted from 8 AM until 4 PM every day. Looks like we know who was actually running the country."

The rumor was further shared across  Facebook, Instagram, and Truth Social.

False: The viral post is a satire

The claims made in the online rumors are false, as the rumor was first posted by America's Last Line of Defense, a network of Facebook pages and websites claiming to publish satire, per Snopes.

Moreover, the network's website, The Dunning-Kruger Times, has an "About Us" page which describes its output as "parody, satire, and tomfoolery".

New book reveals how Barack Obama slammed Joe Biden’s re-election bid

Former President Barack Obama slammed Joe Biden’s ailing re-election bid almost a year before polling day, and warned Biden's staff "your campaign is a mess", a new book titled ' 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America' by journalists Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager and Isaac Arnsdorf reveals.

This happened amid tensions between the Obama and Biden camps as they braced for a tough fight against President Donald Trump.

However, Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 elections.

In the book, the authors described how Biden kept hearing complaints from congressional Democrats that his campaign lacked a presence in their district.

Moreover, his staff in Wilmington, Delaware, were “despondent” and the former POTUS confided in one aide, "I have a leadership problem on the campaign".
