White House reveals full salaries for Trump’s staffers including Karoline Leavitt and Stephen Miller

WASHINGTON, DC: The White House just pulled back the curtain on who’s earning what in President Donald Trump’s inner circle.
On Tuesday, July 1, the annual staff salary report was released to Congress, offering the public a look at the paychecks of more than 400 staffers currently working under the US president, Axios reported.
Donald Trump doesn't take a paycheck from the White House
By law, the president is entitled to a $400,000 annual salary.
In addition, the role comes with a $50,000 expense allowance, $100,000 for travel, and $19,000 for entertainment. A new president also receives a one-time $100,000 redecorating allowance to spruce up the White House.
Altogether, that adds up to a $569,000 presidential compensation package.

But Trump is reportedly not keeping a cent of it. The billionaire has once again declined to accept a salary. During his previous term, he famously donated his presidential pay to various government agencies, including the National Park Service and other departments — and he appears to be continuing that tradition.
The decision aligns with his broader message of self-funding his campaign and refusing to personally profit from his role in government.
The White House payroll: Who’s making what in Donald Trump’s 2025 administration
White House advisor Jacalynne Klopp holds the top spot on the payroll with a salary of $225,700. According to Openpayrolls.com, Klopp previously served in a senior role at Immigration and Customs Enforcement during Trump’s first term.
Right behind her is Associate Counsel Edgar Mkrtchian, earning $203,645. Mkrtchian also has ties to Trump’s previous administration, having worked in the International Trade Administration in 2017.
Next comes a sizable group of 33 employees, each earning $195,200, according to Axios. Some of the most recognizable names in this tier include Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Border Czar Tom Homan, and Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing Peter Navarro.

Meanwhile, five White House speechwriters are listed with salaries ranging from $92,500 to $121,500. At the other end of the pay scale, more than 100 staffers are earning between $59,000 and $80,000.
For context, the average salary in Trump’s 2025 White House is $114,194 — higher than the Joe Biden administration’s 2024 average of $109,166. Biden’s team also had more staff overall, with 564 employees in 2024 compared to just over 400 under Trump.
Additionally, Biden had fewer top-tier earners, with only 21 staff making $180,000 or more, compared to Trump’s 33.
Top Trump officials including David Sacks and Marco Rubio among eight working without pay
Then there’s the zero-dollar club, a group of eight staffers listed with a $0 salary.
AI and crypto czar David Sacks likely declined a salary, given his status as a billionaire venture capitalist.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is currently serving as Trump’s national security advisor. However, since his primary role is at the State Department, his paycheck comes from there.

Similarly, special envoy Steve Witkoff, listed as an assistant to the president but primarily based at State, also does not draw a White House salary.

Pastor Paula White, senior advisor to the White House Faith Office, likely declined compensation as well. According to The Western Journal, she continues to pastor at City of Destiny Church near Orlando, Florida.
Karoline Leavitt and Stephen Miller holding down the fort
Among all the names on the payroll, two stand out for their public visibility — Karoline Leavitt and Stephen Miller.
Leavitt, now serving as press secretary, has long been part of Trump’s inner circle. Before taking on this role, she was the spokesperson for Trump’s 2024 campaign and previously served as an assistant to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany during Trump’s first term.

Then there’s Miller, practically a fixture in Trump administration. A senior policy adviser and speechwriter during Trump’s first presidency, Miller has returned as deputy chief of staff in the current administration.
