Fact Check: Did Barbra Streisand sue Karoline Leavitt for verbally assaulting her?

WASHINGTON, DC: Since Karoline Leavitt became the youngest White House Press Secretary in the United States' history, several rumors about her have circulated across social media.
Recently, another rumor circulated claiming that singer Barbra Streisand sued Karoline Leavitt for $50 million after the White House press secretary launched a shocking verbal assault on her. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.
Claim: Barbra Streisand sued Karoline Leavitt for verbally assaulting her
In September 2025, a rumor circulated claiming that Karoline Leavitt and Barbra Streisand got into a fight on live television, resulting in Streisand suing Leavitt.
A Facebook post claimed the fight began during an interview in which Leavitt began to attack Streisand over her character, "calling her hypocritical and questioning the 'system' she represents."

The post further claimed that in response, Streisand "remained calm in the face of the confrontation" and filed a lawsuit for $50 million against Leavitt.
"What seemed like a normal live television interview after Barbra Streisand's performance and charity appearance turned into chaos when Karoline Leavitt suddenly launched a verbal assault on the legendary artist," the post read.
It added, "Instead of discussing her music, activism, and upcoming projects, she attacked her character, calling her hypocritical and questioning the "system" she represents as one of entertainment's most respected and socially active voices."

The same Facebook post also shared a link to an article with the title "'YOU WERE BEATEN — PAY NOW!' — Barbra Streisand Sues Karoline Leavitt and Network for $50 Million After Shocking Live Attack."
False: The article was posted from an inauthentic website without any proof
The claims made in the online rumor are false, as there is no credible evidence to back the claim that Barbra Streisand sued Karoline Leavitt for $50 million.
Moreover, the rumor originated from Facebook posts attempting to get users to click on links to articles. Those links are pages on advertisement-filled websites that seem to profit with each click, Snopes reported.

Furthermore, no reputable news outlet covered any such news, nor did a search on search engines, such as Google, showed any results.
There is also no evidence that millions of people saw such a confrontation on television, nor that people spoke out in support of Streisand on social media.
Similar rumor about Karoline Leavitt spread in past
This in't the first time that a fake rumor about Karoline Leavitt has went viral online.
In April, a rumor circulated online claiming that Karoline Leavitt debated Stephen Colbert on his late-night talk show.
The claim mainly featured in YouTube videos, and the first clip was posted on February 24, 2025, according to Snopes.
A video, posted on April 18, was titled, "Karoline Leavitt Fires Back on Stephen Colbert's Show After a Shocking Accusation."
Similarly, other videos were titled "Karoline Leavitt SHUTS DOWN Stephen Colbert After His Insane On-Air Attack" and "Karoline Leavitt Just HUMILIATED Stephen Colbert and Stephen ERUPTS!"
However, this rumor was also debunked as a White House spokesperson said a video about Karoline Leavitt's appearance on 'The Late Show', posted on February 24, was "fake", per the fact-checking outlet.
Moreover, Leavitt's name was not on guest lists published ahead of Colbert's shows, and there were no videos of her appearing on the show.
