SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA: A claim has been circulating on social media platforms that after the New England Patriots witnessed a brutal loss in Super Bowl LX, rapper Cardi B called the team’s star player Stefon Diggs 'a disgrace to the game.' The alleged exchange has sparked panic among many. Let us fact-check whether the exchange actually happened.

Claim: Cardi B called Stefon Diggs 'a disgrace to the game'

According to the viral claim, Diggs, the New England Patriots’ wide receiver, and Cardi B removed each other from their respective social media accounts as Diggs witnessed a brutal loss against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX.

The claim was accompanied by a screenshot showing the rapper’s comment under Digg’s Instagram post, stating, “You’re a disgrace to the game,” and as a reply, Diggs wrote, “You’re a disgrace to music.”

The alleged heated exchange has caused panic among fans.

Fact Check: The screenshot is fabricated

The screenshot, however, is digitally manipulated and was posted by a fan account.

No such heated exchange took place between the two, even as they unfollowed each other from their respective social media accounts.

The last time Cardi B commented under Stefon Diggs’ post was under the same post as she wrote, “Eight”, while the star player replied, “Yk what type time I’m on.”

However, neither Stefon Diggs nor Cardi B has released a statement about the fake screenshot that supposedly shows a heated exchange between them.

While many expected Cardi B to stay until the end of the game, the Grammy-winning artist left halfway through. Just a few hours after she left the venue, it was clear that the two had unfollowed each other on social media.

The move has left many confused, especially since Diggs recently expressed his admiration for Cardi B.

At a recent press conference, Stefon Diggs praised Cardi B and said, "As a significant other, I really appreciate it...It's a level of appreciation because she's an amazing woman."

The New England Patriots' star player added, "Being there for me is hard, you can imagine. I'm a lot to deal with, but I never want to not let her know that I appreciate her for being there. Not just for the games, but she supported me when she wasn't there."
