LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A recent viral image of Chris Evans has ignited discussions and debates among enthusiasts and political commentators.

A photograph from early October 2024 allegedly showed the 'Captain America' actor wearing a pro-Kamala Harris t-shirt. This led many to question whether he is publicly endorsing the Vice President.

The photo in question was reportedly digitally manipulated to include a pro-Harris slogan on Chris Evans' t-shirt, leading fact-checking website Snopes to classify it as fake.

TinEye reverse image search results showed that Evans was wearing a plain white T-shirt in the original photo. On July 5, 2013, celebrity gossip website Just Jared published an unedited photo of Evans.

The T-shirt bore the slogan, "KAMA'LA THE LADY WHO MADE BRETT KAVANAUGH CRY 2024," referring to the 2018 Senate confirmation hearings when then-US Senator Kamala Harris questioned Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The website Just Jared has published the complete version of the photograph featuring Minka Kelly.

Chris Evans transitions from Captain America to political activist

Amid the pandemic, Chris Evans stepped away from his 'Captain America' persona in Marvel movies to enhance his public engagement in a new role -- that of a political activist. He embarked on a political journey with the bipartisan website, Astarting Point.

The actor expressed that his idea originated from the personal frustration of not finding reliable, fact-based information on basic political topics and policies online.

"It's not that I'm specifically drawn to politics. It's just when you look around, you try to figure out how can you help," he shared his thoughts with PEOPLE.

"There's a lot of things you can do as an actor with your name," said Evans, 39. "I could be making booze — I don't discourage anyone from doing that, I love booze — but there's no denying that I played a certain character, and it just so happens to align with part of my nature in terms of being someone who is politically involved and who cares about the wellbeing of people in this country."

He went on to say, "You have to use your platform to do more than just retweet things."

Evans is well-known for his political outspokenness, including his criticism of former president Donald Trump. He has been vocal on social media, a trait that was instilled in him since childhood.
