'Don't like them together': Internet divided as Chris Evans and Alba Baptista make red carpet debut as a couple

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Evans took his relationship with his wife Alba Baptista a notch above as they made their red carpet debut as a couple six months after their secret wedding. 

The 42-year-old ‘Avengers’ star, who is extremely private about his personal life, made the red carpet debut with Baptista, 26, during the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday, March 10.

The ‘Captain America’ star matched the red carpet as he opted for a burnt-red Dolce & Gabbana suit which he paired with a white shirt and black tie.

His newly-wedded wife complimented him as she went for a black and white strapless gown.

Tying her hair in a Hollywood classic updo, the ‘Warrior Nun’ actress accessorized with a statement diamond necklace from Cartier.

The pair did not shy away from showing their love as they wrapped their arms around each other while posing for the camera.

While waiting in line before the red carpet, the couple also indulged in a short moment of PDA as the camera panned onto them to capture them sharing a little kiss. 

The couple’s red carpet debut came six months after the stars tied the knot secretly in September 2023. Evans confirmed the marriage to Page Six per Glamour a month later when he attended the New York Comic Con with a ring on his finger.

He described their marriage ceremony, saying,  “We kind of had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast, we did one in Portugal—my wife’s Portuguese.”

“But they were just…wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding—for those of you who are married, you know, it takes a lot out of you,” continued Evans.

The Marvel superstar added, “But now that we’re through that, we’ve just kind of been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn—my favorite season. It’s, like, the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting.”

Internet left divided as Chris Evans made his red carpet debut with his wife Alba Baptista. While several fans gush at their loved-up demeanor, some trolls slammed the couple for their age difference.

One of the fans gushed at the beautiful couple and said, "Chris evans and alba baptista looking STUNNING at the oscars ❤️‍🔥."

Meanwhile, one of the fans took a jibe at Baptista's age and wrote, "Wait how old is she?"

However, another fan criticized the little kiss that Evans shared with his wife while waiting in line for the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty, and wrote, "I think she asked him to kiss her cuz it looks like he said alright just before kissing her. And the Oscar goes to the weirdest couple…these two 🤡 & 🐟."

Another user said, "I'll bet he kisses Dodger with more passion."
