DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, a claim has been circulating on social media platforms alleging that Iran has attacked the properties of President Donald Trump in Dubai. The rumor has sparked speculation among netizens, who are questioning its authenticity. Let us fact-check it.

Claim: Iran attacked Trump's properties in Dubai

As Iran unleashed a massive missile and drone attack, with Dubai facing the brunt following the offense by the US and Israel, claims began circulating that President Donald Trump's properties in the city were hit.

The Trump Estates and Trump International Golf Club are the two active real estate properties owned by the Trump Organization in the city. Trump Tower Dubai is another project currently under construction.

“Palm Jumeirah Dubai is the main investment center of the Trump family,” posts claimed, sharing visuals of the blaze.

Another post claimed, “Trump's property, which he received as a gift from the ruler of the UAE, was hit by an Iranian ballistic missile in Dubai.”

Fact Check: No credible reports support the claim

However, no credible reports indicate that Trump properties in Dubai were hit. According to several posts, Palm Jumeirah served as the Trump family's primary investment hub, but the Trump Organization’s plans to build a hotel there were announced in 2005 and later scrapped in 2011.

The project was later moved to Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, a few miles away from Palm Jumeirah.

The claims of a property ‘gifted’ to Trump were also fact-checked by Grok, which stated, "No credible reports link any Trump-owned or branded property to the hits. Trump Org has licensing deals there (e.g., 2017 golf club via private developer DAMAC; recent Tower plans)."

"But none described as a "gift from the UAE ruler," and none reported damaged. This seems like a viral mislabeling of general strike footage."

The rumor coincided with a series of missile strikes launched by Iran on February 28, 2026, targeting Israeli sites and multiple US military bases in the Middle East.

According to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency, the strikes hit the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, as well as major bases, including Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base and Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

The missile attacks followed US and Israeli military operations in Iran, heightening regional tensions and fueling speculation online.
