According to a viral claim circulating online, Jennifer Lawrence paid a man $10,000 to destroy President Trump’s star on Hollywood Boulevard, and the cops now have the PayPal transactions to prove it.

The post claims that Los Angeles detectives are looking for Jennifer Lawrence after a man came forward and said she paid him $10,000 to smash up President Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

Lieutenant Detective AJ Barron allegedly said, “Ms. Lawrence isn’t cooperating, which won’t work out well for her.”

The post further states that she could be facing conspiracy charges for wanton property damage, which carries up to two years in a California prison.

The claim has spread on X and Facebook, garnering hundreds of thousands of views as of this writing, with many appearing to believe the claim as true, while a few others remained skeptical or dismissed it as fake.

Fact Check: False, the claim originated as satire

The claim, however, is false, as there are no reports about the Oscar-winning actress paying a man to damage Trump’s Walk of Fame star.

The claim that she is under investigation for the same is also baseless. A search on Google for the claim yielded no relevant results from prominent news media outlets, except for the social media posts that amplified the claim.

If the claim were true, it would have been widely covered by credible news and entertainment media outlets, triggering widespread backlash and debates.

Additionally, the claim was first posted by a Facebook parody account called ‘America’s Last Line Of Defense,’ which states in the bio, ‘Nothing on this page is real.’

The ‘Black Swan’ actress had been a vocal critic of Trump, but during an interview in November 2025, Lawrence was asked about her opinion on the president being in office for his second term, to which she responded about the shift in her mindset about being vocal.

"I don't really know if I should," Lawrence candidly revealed before recalling how, during Trump's first administration, she was frantically vocal because she couldn't believe what was happening.
