WASHINGTON, DC: Ahead of the Midterm elections, a rumor began circulating on social media platforms claiming that Democratic Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has said that the country would be in ‘big trouble’ if his party wins the Midterms.

The claim has sparked both concerns and speculation, with many questioning the claim’s authenticity, prompting a fact-check.

Claim: John Fetterman warns of Democrat victory in Midterms

According to a post on X, Fetterman just warned that if his party wins the midterms, the country will be in big trouble because there are too many communists working behind the scenes.

The post claims that Fetterman is one of the few Democrats willing to speak out against what it calls "communist influence" in the party, stating that he has consistently warned about the party's direction.

The post also argues that most Democrats are either ignoring or supporting "radical" or "socialist" policies, asserting that these policies are similar to failed experiments in other countries.

The claim garnered mixed reactions from users, with many agreeing with Fetterman, while others slammed him, indicating that many appear to believe the claim to be true.

Fact Check: John Fetterman made no such comments

Although Fetterman is known for his pro-Trump stance and for constant criticism of his own party, the claim is false, as there are no reports of him making such a remark.

There are no publicly available reports, statements, or social media posts where the Pennsylvania Senator said that Democrats' victory in the midterms will be a big trouble or that there is growing communist influence within the party.

A search on Google for the claim yielded no credible results, which, if true, would have made headlines, sparking debates.

A fact check by Grok stated, “Fetterman has criticized far-left Democrats as 'communists' or 'dirtbag left' pushing socialism, but the meme's specific claim that he warned of 'big trouble' if Democrats win midterms due to communists behind the scenes is exaggerated."

"His comments targeted certain primary candidates, not a broad anti-Democrat warning.”

Last month, Fetterman raged against the radical socialist candidates who are taking over his party, but clarified that he has no plan to defect for now.

“I said months ago, I said the Democratic Party is becoming an orgy of socialism. These recent elections vindicate my description,” he told the New York Post after Democratic Socialists of America triumphed in three New York House primary races on June 23 that rocked the party establishment.
