WASHINGTON, DC: It all started with Elon Musk flashing a black eye.

The Tesla CEO showed up at his farewell presser from the Oval Office last Friday sporting a serious bruise on his right eye. Musk blamed his four-year-old son, X, saying the kid roughed him up a bit.

But naturally, that explanation wasn’t enough for internet sleuths, and theories flew. One in particular was that Stephen Miller — Trump’s hardline deputy chief of staff — gave Elon that shiner because his wife, Katie Miller, allegedly “left” him for Musk.

Claim: Katie Miller left husband Stephen for Elon Musk

The same day it was announced that Elon Musk would be stepping away from the Trump administration, Katie Miller — who had been serving as the spokesperson for Musk’s department, DOGE — also put in her resignation.

She said she’d be leaving to take a full-time role with Musk. That alone raised many eyebrows.

It's worth noting that Katie is not new to DC. She’s a seasoned player, having previously served as communications director for former Vice President Mike Pence. But the timing of her move had people wondering whether there was trouble in paradise.

Suddenly, the claim that Katie had quietly left her husband for Musk started trending. Supporters of the theory pointed out that the bruise was on Musk’s right eye, which makes sense since Miller is left-handed.

There was also some reported friction between Miller and Musk, particularly over the Tesla CEO criticizing Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful bill."

Fact Check:  No proof that Katie Miller has left husband for Elon Musk

For all the speculation, there’s zero actual proof that Katie and Musk are anything more than colleagues. There’s been no public sign of any relationship drama between Katie and Stephen Miller, and definitely no credible report suggesting they’ve split.

In fact, Stephen Miller has continued making public appearances like nothing’s amiss. Since Katie’s departure, he even sat down with Lara Trump for a Fox interview and gushed about his wife and their three kids.

“When I first met her, she was the communications director at the Department of Homeland Security,” Miller said. “So it’s on-brand, the relationship, because we were on conference calls every day on border security.”

The Millers tied the knot at the Trump International Hotel in DC and have two sons and a daughter together, the Independent reported.

Miller not only reminisced about meeting Katie but also lit up when talking about his kids. Apparently, his daughter even has a photo with Trump as a newborn. “My daughter is always asking to see the president again… She’s always desperate for any chance to get face time with the president,” Miller bragged.

According to him, Trump is a natural with children. “He’s great with kids,” Miller told Lara. “He’s a kid magnet… a child whisperer.” He added, “This is the most family-friendly work environment. You can bring your kid to work any time you want.”

Despite having worked with Trump for over a decade, he said that “sometimes it only feels like it’s been a year."
