Vince Vaughn slammed as 'desperate' after he visits Donald Trump in Oval Office

WASHINGTON, DC: Vince Vaughn paid a surprise visit to President Donald Trump on Friday, April 18, becoming the latest celebrity to drop by the White House.
His Oval Office visit was not included in the president’s official schedule released to reporters. It caught attention after the White House social media team shared a movie poster-style photo of the meeting, according to the Irish Star.

The official White House X (formerly Twitter) account posted the picture containing the phrase "White House Crashers," showing Vince Vaughn and Donald Trump standing at the Resolute Desk.
The picture referenced Vaughn’s 2005 film 'Wedding Crashers', in which he starred alongside Owen Wilson.

The White House did not reveal the reason for the visit or provide any details to the media.
Interestingly, the 55-year-old actor has been seen with Trump earlier. In 2020, they were photographed together at the College Football Playoff National Championship in New Orleans, per the Irish Star.

The actor told the Los Angeles Times in a 2020 interview, "In my career, I’ve met a lot of politicians who I’ve always been cordial to. I don’t have a party that I support and endorse. In fact, for me, sometimes it’s difficult to find a candidate that you feel is philosophically consistent and not just going along with whoever is funding their particular party."
Vince Vaughn's political leanings
In a 2024 New York Times Magazine profile, Vince Vaughn clarified that he is a libertarian, but next to the center-left liberalism of Hollywood, he is still an outlier, according to The Independent.

He has been happy to collaborate on a documentary series with conservative blowhard Glenn Beck, who called for US schools to be armed with guns, and also voiced support for former Rep Ron Paul, who ran for president both as a Republican and a libertarian, per the outlet.
Furthermore, Vaughn has voiced strong support for Second Amendment rights and criticized gun control measures in a 2015 interview with British GQ. He argued that guns should be allowed in schools to curb mass shootings.
