Owen Wilson turns down $12M role in OJ Simpson biopic, Internet calls him 'smart man'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Owen Wilson turned down a significant role in a biopic about OJ Simpson. The filmmaker Joshua Newton had approached him for the part and was willing to offer $12 million.
“Owen Wilson was perfect for the role,” Newton shared with THR.
“I actually had a meeting with him in Santa Monica. Everybody loved the script. His agent wanted him to do it. We offered him $12 million. But at the end of the lunch, Owen stood up and said, if you think I’m going to take the lead role in a movie about how OJ didn’t do it, you’ve got to be kidding me.”

Despite Owen Wilson's rejection, the project proceeded and is currently in production. Titled 'The Juice,' the film has released its first teaser, which portrays Simpson in an electric chair. The teaser's accompanying message reads, "Feel better now? You haven't seen anything yet."
Boris Kodjoe has been cast in the lead role of Orenthal James 'OJ' Simpson, while Charlotte Kirk will portray Nicole Brown Simpson.
