Amid the discussion following the release of Candace Owens’ ‘Bride of Charlie’ trailer on February 24, social media rumors began claiming that Megyn Kelly quietly helped produce the project and even gave legal advice to Owens' team on how to avoid a defamation lawsuit. 

The claim has sparked speculation, with many questioning the authenticity of the post and some causing backlash. 

Some critics accused Candace Owens of attacking Erika Kirk, while others questioned whether the trailer's wording could lead to legal trouble.

Fact Check: Megyn Kelly did not confirm helping to produce the series

On her SiriusXM show, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly addressed the noise herself but did not confirm whether she would help produce the series. Instead, she focused on what was actually said in the trailer.

Kelly told listeners, "Candace Owens has not outright claimed Erika orchestrated T the murder." She added that the trailer raises questions but stops short of making a direct accusation.

Kelly noted that careful language matters in stories like this and stressed that what is said, and what is not said, makes a big difference when people talk about serious claims.

Megyn Kelly also shared new details about her past efforts to calm tensions between Candace Owens and Erika Kirk.

She revealed that in December 2025, she helped arrange a private meeting between the two women in Nashville.

On her show, she said, “I have been working quietly to promote a reconciliation between them.” The goal, she explained, was to lower the heat after earlier public questions about Charlie Kirk’s death.

Candace Owens' earlier attacks against Erika Kirk

Owens, who is known for peddling conspiracy theories, including about the death of Charlie Kirk, has attacked Erika on various occasions. 

Recently, Owens linked Erika's name to an alleged grooming message from 2014 involving a 15-year-old, which quickly spread online. 

Earlier, Owens released a leaked recording of a private call where Erika is heard excitedly talking about Turning Point USA’s high merchandise sales just 11 days after his assassination. 

Owens criticised the widow for being 'extraordinarily upbeat' and laughing while discussing business metrics so soon after the tragedy.
