Netizens slam Candace Owens as a 'monster' for targeting Erika Kirk in 'Bride of Charlie series'
WASHINGTON, DC: A wave of condemnation spread across social media on Monday, February 23, after Candace Owens announced that her show would relaunch on Wednesday with a multi-part series focused on Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Titled “Bride of Charlie,” the series was promoted with artwork depicting Erika Kirk wearing a crown, a visual widely criticized as provocative.
A teaser video opens with news coverage of Charlie Kirk’s assassination before shifting to commentary on his widow, Israel, and “Zionists,” while referencing alleged scandals.
The backlash was immediate and remarkably unified.

Netizens call Candace 'an evil monster'
Conservative author Rod Dreher added, “We have a serious problem on the Right. Candace is a monster. The most charitable thing one can say is that she is deranged. But what can you say about those who defend her, or keep their silence?”

Ben Shapiro also reacted, saying, “Candace Owens is evil.”
Former FBI deputy director Dan Bongino said, “those attacking Erika Kirk will feel the licks of the flames of hell on every inch of their bodies.”

Criticism was not limited to mainstream political commentators.
Seth Dillon of The Babylon Bee questioned how Charlie Kirk himself might view the situation: “What would Charlie have to say about this? And what would he think of his so-called friends who can’t summon the courage to say it for him?”
Zionists are putting in real work hours promoting our upcoming series. I would like to extend to them all my deepest gratitude.

We are a small team and couldn’t do it without your steadfast commitment to hysterics.🙏
See you tomorrow.
Candace reacted to the backlash sarcastically adding, “Zionists are putting in real work hours promoting our upcoming series. I would like to extend to them all my deepest gratitude. We are a small team and couldn’t do it without your steadfast commitment to hysterics.”
Owens' past theory around Charlie Kirk's death
Owens had previously floated various theories surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death.
At one point, she suggested she would stop discussing the matter if Erika Kirk requested it.
Over time, however, her commentary escalated, evolving from questioning official narratives to implying that deeper betrayals may have occurred.
Previously, Candance has also targeted Erika's close friend, Tracy Martin.
Owens had claimed that Martin's daughter had a ‘bad feeling’ about attending the UVU event where Kirk was shot.
Martins had denied Owens' claims, terming it a case of “conspiracy psychosis”.
