NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Far-right commentator Candace Owens announced that her YouTube channel was suspended following her recent interview with rapper Kanye West, on Monday, September 9.

Both Owens and West are infamous for sharing antisemitic views. In their explanation for temporarily taking down Owens' account, YouTube claimed that similar takes were shared during the interview, including the conspiracy theory that “Jewish people control the media.”

Owens took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to state, "There will be no show today, or at all this week. That’s because @YouTube has issued me a strike and a one week suspension for my sit down with Kanye. They also removed the interview as 'hate speech', as it was mass reported by Zionists. Their tactics never change."

The antisemitic stance of the podcaster got her fired from the conservative platform, the Daily Wire, back in March, following a public feud with its founder Ben Shapiro.

However, according to Mediaite, her popularity did not diminish among the far-right, as her podcast reportedly attracted millions of eyeballs. She has used her platform to defend neo-Nazis such as Nick Fuentes, as well as argue in defense of Hitler himself.

In her post, Owens shared a screengrab of the message she received from YouTube that read, "Additionally, the video Kanye West (Ye) x Candace Owens | Candace Ep 42 has been removed from the Candace Owens YouTube channel because it violates our hate speech policies. YouTube does not allow content containing conspiratorial claims that individuals or groups are evil, corrupt or malicious based on their protected group status. Specifically, the video in question contains claims that Jewish people control the media."

“All who watched that podcast know that Ye was calm, and filled with love—speaking about the world coming together to defeat evil," slammed Owens, adding that everyone knew why she was "being targeted," and that she felt "confident that I am the right person for this to happen."

The podcaster shared in a following tweet that her account, with 2.4 million followers, was "demonetized" by YouTube.

“Thus far, I have had zero strikes on my @YouTubeCreators account. I have now been inundated with 3 back to back content hits within minutes, plus an email that I am now fully demonetized," she wrote. "We all know exactly who is behind this and why."

Candance Owens' announcement riles up Internet

Netizens were split into two groups while reacting to Owens' post on X.

While the far-right antisemitic group backed her and requested for the interview to be uploaded on other platforms, others slammed the podcaster over the views she promoted. The following tweets demonstrate the predominant takes.

"YouTube is known for censorship. Not sure why you chose it for your platform," wrote a user.

"Ridiculous. We stand with you regardless of whatever platform you choose in the event YT continues to censor your work," stated another.

"This is how they attack you when you speak Truth to Power!! This whole damn system needs to come down!" expressed a third.

"That’s because you’re a crazy antisemitic in desperate need of meds. Seek help lady, I’m so sick of you," slammed a fourth.

"Good thing you tried so hard to avoid being labeled antisemitic," mocked a fifth user.

"The world’s smallest violin goes to you, ma’am. It is so microscopic you might mistake it for your brain," chided yet another.
