LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brittany Mahomes, who recently faced criticism for subtly showing her support for Donald Trump by "liking" his social media post, has found an unexpected ally in Candace Owens.

On her 'Candace' podcast, Owens defended Mahomes, expressing her approval of the NFL WAG's attitude and political stance.

According to OK Magazine, Owens addressed the situation on her show, stating, “Brittany Mahomes is under fire… because she 'liked' a Trump post, it's like a thing right now, I guess.”

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, faced backlash after followers noticed she had publicly liked a post outlining the Republican Party's platform for the 2024 election, which included a mass deportation operation and keeping men far away from women's sports.

Brittany later hit back with a post condemining "haters" on her Instagram Story. She had posted, “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There's no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."

Backing Brittany, Candace said at the beginning of  the podcast, "Brittany Mahome has an attitude. She doesn't care [that social media is angry], and I am here for it."

She also sarcastically remarked on Hollywood's supposed open-mindedness, saying, “You've gotta love Hollywood. We're so accepting. We just love everyone. Love is love, love, love.”

In her defense, Owens argued that people should be allowed to “let someone 'like' a post” without facing undue criticism, especially during an election season where individual voting choices should be respected.

"Let someone like a post, which they're allowed to do because it's an election and you are not required to vote one way or the other. And that's what Brittany Mahomes did, she sure stepped in it, she apparently liked a Trump post," said Owens.

Owens elaborated on the content of the post Mahomes "liked"—which she later "unliked"—detailing that it outlined the 2024 GOP platform to “make America great again.”

The post included proposals such as “keeping men out of women’s sports,” “deport pro-Hamas radicals,” “stopping the migrant crime epidemic,” and “carrying out the largest deportation operation in American history.”

Candace Owens highlights regional biases and dismisses critics as 'bots'

Candace Owens reflected on regional differences in political beliefs, noting, “Given the fact that she's from the South this certainly doesn't stress me out or shock me but you know, people that live in the bubbles like on the coast, really do believe that everybody thinks like them.”

She added that such individuals “just can't imagine — or they think people in the South are all backwards and all racist.”

Owens observed that fans seemed “shocked” that Mahomes “outed herself as a Trump supporter".

She suggested that this reaction might be partly due to Mahomes agreeing with Project 2025—a conservative “political transition project” believed to be a Trump agenda if he is reelected—despite being married to someone who is African-American.

Owens also commented on the critics of Project 2025, saying she feels those who “freak out” about it are “just bots".
