WASHINGTON, DC: With the midterm elections less than a month away, a rumor began circulating on social media claiming that millions of Americans had offered President Donald Trump $90 to resign.

The claim has sparked mixed reactions online, with many dismissing it as fake while others called for verification of the viral rumor.

The claim surfaced in a Facebook post suggesting that millions of Americans had offered Trump $90 to resign.

The post has garnered hundreds of thousands of views as of this writing, with many appearing to believe the claim was true, while others dismissed it as fake.

The claim surfaced after Trump announced that more than 20 million beneficiaries would receive $90 each to help pay their Medicare Part B premiums.

According to the White House, the initiative would mark the first use of the Medicare Improvement Fund by a presidential administration.

The administration described the move as an effort to lower seniors’ costs and said the fund should directly benefit Medicare recipients.

Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

The claim, however, is false, as there is no evidence that millions of Americans have offered $90 for Trump to resign as president.

There are no official statements, announcements, or social media posts confirming such an offer or a coordinated campaign.

If the claim were true, it would likely have been reported by prominent news outlets and made headlines.

However, searches on Google and Bing yielded no relevant reports or credible results, apart from social media posts sharing the claim.

Moreover, the claim was posted by the Facebook account of an online satirical publication called The Borowitz Report. Therefore, the claim was intended as parody rather than a factual statement.

The announcement of the $90 payments comes as Republicans face the prospect of losing the upcoming midterm elections.

The move has been portrayed as a desperate attempt by the Trump administration to appeal to voters.

Earlier, Trump promised a $5,000 dividend to Americans.

He reaffirmed his promise to pay $5,000 to every adult US citizen if Republicans win control of both chambers of Congress in the midterm elections.

“I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America $5,000. Democrat policies won’t allow this to happen. In fact, the opposite,” Trump said.

“They’re going to raise your taxes. If the Democrats win, you will have an economic depression. If the Republicans win, you will each have $5,000 in your pocket, and economic success for our country like we have never ever seen before,” Trump added.
