Trump calls second term ‘much more powerful’, boasts ‘I can do stuff that is unbelievable’
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KENTUCKY: President Donald Trump touted what he described as his increased power during his second term at a rally in Highland Heights, Kentucky, on Saturday, October 17, declaring that “I can do stuff that is unbelievable.”
Speaking to supporters ahead of the November midterm elections, Trump highlighted his decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America" and contrasted his current standing with his first term in office. The president also warned of potential investigations if Democrats win control of Congress and repeated his proposal to give Americans a $5,000 payment if Republicans secure victories in both chambers.

During the rally, Trump argued that he had greater authority in his second term than he did during his first presidency. “I don't think I could have done this in my first term. This is a much more powerful term,” the 80-year-old said, pointing to his decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America."
The Republican leader also invoked his relationship with Google to illustrate the change in his influence, saying, “Google wouldn't have taken my call in the first. Now, they kiss my a**.”

Trump also touted his decision to change the name of Lake Ontario, saying, “Well, I also changed the name of a lake in Canada to the Lake America.”
Trump's remarks came as Republicans seek to maintain control of Congress in the November midterm elections, and the president continues to energise the Republican crowds just weeks before the elections. He has also warned that a Democratic victory could lead to investigations involving his administration and political allies.

Trump also repeated his claim to distribute $5,000 dividends to every adult American if Republicans win both the House and Senate. The POTUS has repeatedly linked his proposed payment to the outcome of the midterm elections, urging voters to support Republican candidates in taking control of Congress.

The proposed dividend would provide $5,000 to every adult American, according to Trump's remarks. However, the plan would need legislative approval before it could be implemented, and its potential cost would pose a significant funding question.
The rally in Highland Heights featured Republican Rep Andy Barr and congressional candidate Ed Gallrein. Barr is seeking to retain his seat as Republicans campaign to preserve their congressional majorities.
Trump's remarks formed part of his broader effort to rally support for Republican candidates before voters head to the polls on November 3.
