HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: An allegation is circulating on social media claiming that Paramount Studios has warned Hollywood actor Alan Ritchson against criticizing President Donald Trump. The claim has sparked backlash against the actor for his political stance, along with questions about the claim’s authenticity, prompting a fact-check.

Claim: Alan Ritchson faces career warning for criticizing Donald Trump

Describing the actor as a ‘radical leftist,’ a viral X post stated that “Ritchson, who has made it his mission in life to spread lies about President Trump, was just informed by his employers at Paramount that 'political posting on social media is explicitly forbidden by his contract."

The post claims that Ritchson, who stars in the popular show ‘Reacher,’ has been lagging in ratings since he began his criticisms of Trump.

The post claimed that, according to Paramount Talent Coordinator Jon Raebro, there doesn’t seem to be an interest in renewing the show for a fifth season.

“Mr. Ritchson seems determined to end his own career,” Raebro allegedly said.

The post has garnered hundreds of thousands of views as of this writing, garnering conflicting reactions from fans and netizens. While many appeared to believe the claim to be true, others dismissed it as fake.

Fact Check: No credible evidence to support the claim

Although the 43-year-old actor once made headlines for his remarks against Trump and the Epstein files, the claim that he is facing a career warning for his criticism is not supported by evidence.

There are no credible reports or official announcements that say Paramount has forbidden the actor from making politically explicit posts on social media.

There are also no publicly available reports of the studio’s coordinator making the above-mentioned statement.

Also, the claim that there doesn’t seem to be an interest in renewing the show for a fifth season is baseless, as production for the season is underway.

If the claim were true, prominent news and entertainment media outlets would have widely covered it, but a search on Google for the claim yielded no such media reports.

In a 2024 cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, Ritchson spoke out against Trump and addressed the support he maintains among some Christian groups.

"Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to be treating him like he's their poster child, and it's unreal. I don't understand it," Ritchson stated bluntly.
