NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A new rumor is swirling online about Taylor Swift after The Recording Academy released the list of 2026 Grammy nominees.

Social media users claimed the Academy snubbed the 14-time Grammy winner in this year’s nominations. Swift last appeared at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she earned multiple nods for her 2024 album 'The Tortured Poets Department' but did not win. Since 2010, however, the pop superstar has racked up a total of 14 Grammy Awards across various categories.

Claim: Taylor Swift was snubbed in the 2026 Grammy nominations

Social media users alleged Taylor Swift was unfairly left out of the 2026 Grammy nominations, sparking rumors of a snub. Fans pointed to her record-breaking career, multiple past wins, and the commercial success of her 2025 album 'The Life of a Showgirl' as reasons she should have been included. Posts and threads speculated that the Recording Academy had overlooked her, despite her continuing influence and presence in the music industry.

The claim is false. Taylor Swift was not snubbed — her 2025 album 'The Life of a Showgirl' was released on October 3, 2025, after the Grammy eligibility period (August 31, 2024, through August 30, 2025). Since she did not release any qualifying singles, music videos, or other works during that window, she was ineligible for 2026 nominations. Her lead single, 'The Fate of Ophelia,' also released outside the eligibility period.

Swift could still appear at the 2026 Grammy Awards as a performer or presenter, but she will not compete for a trophy this year.

Taylor Swift’s Grammy record remains unmatched. She won her first two awards in 2010 for 'Fearless,' which earned her both Album of the Year and Best Country Album.

Since then, she has received nominations for either Album of the Year or a genre-specific award for every studio album she has released. Swift also made history as the only artist to win Album of the Year four times, for 'Fearless,' '1989,' 'Folklore,' and 'Midnights.'

Over the years, she has collected Grammys across multiple categories, including Best Country Song, Best Female Country Vocal Performance, Best Country Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video, and Best Song Written for Visual Media — bringing her total to 14 awards.

When will the 2026 Grammy Awards take place?

The 2026 Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 1, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Fans can watch the ceremony live on CBS or stream it on Paramount+.

Producers have not yet announced a host or the list of performers. However, several nominated artists are expected to attend, and in past years, winners from the Best New Artist category often performed during the show.

Last year’s winners — including Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Doechii, KAROL G, and Brandi Carlile — helped unveil the nominees for all 95 Grammy categories on November 7.
