WASHINGTON, DC: Since President Donald Trump assumed office for the second time, several claims about him have gone viral across social media platforms. While some have turned out to be true, most have been debunked.

Recently, a claim that Trump called legendary US Army nurse Ruby Bradley a "loser" and that his administration also deleted her military records has been making the rounds of social media. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Claim: Donald Trump called legendary US Army nurse Ruby Bradley a 'loser'

In May 2025, posts claiming Donald Trump called Ruby Bradley a "loser" emerged on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. Some went as far as to claim that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth deleted her military records from the archive of the US military.

An X user @VudiXhymshiti posted a picture of Bradley and wrote, "President Trump called the woman pictured below a 'loser' for being captured. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and DOGE ordered her service history to be deleted from the Department of Defense archives because she was 'DEI' and 'woke.'"

The captioned further read, "Ruby Bradley was serving as an Amy nurse in the Philippines when she was taken prisoner just weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Ruby was sent to the Santo Tomas internment camp in Manilla, where she provided medical attention to other prisoners and smuggled food to those who needed it."

"She became known as an 'Angel in Fatigues.' By the time the camp was liberated in February of 1945, she weighed only 81 pounds, having given most of her daily rations to the children in the camp," the caption added.

The caption concluded, "Throughout her career, Ruby Bradley received a total of 34 medals, decorations, and awards, including the Bronze Star, making her one of the most decorated women in US history. Ruby Bradley lived to be 94, and now rests at Arlington National Cemetery. Her story and sacrifice deserves recognition, remembrance and respect all completely foreign concepts to Donald Trump and his administration."

Many different X and Facebook users shared the same picture of Bradley along with similar captions.

Bradley, one of the most decorated figures in the United States Army Nurse Corps, is celebrated for her service during World War II and the Korean War.

Fact Check: No credible evidence to back the claim

The claims made in the social media posts are false as there is no proper evidence to prove that Donald Trump called Ruby Bradley a "loser" and deleted her service record.

Moreover, searches on search engines, such as Google, showed no results of any news article published by a reputable media house about any such incident.

Furthermore, the US Army, under Hegseth, made no such announcement about purging the records of Bradley.

Donald Trump administration's DEI Purge

Donald Trump started his campaign to abolish diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives during his first term. Now, in his second term as the POTUS, he's back to finish the job.

In March, the president claimed during an address that his administration had eliminated DEI.

The 78-year-old said, "We have ended the tyranny of so-called diversity, equity and inclusion policies all across the entire federal government and, indeed, the private sector and our military. And our country will be woke no longer."

Hours after taking office on January 20, Trump issued executive orders to dismantle programs, put pressure on federal contractors to end "illegal DEI discrimination," and direct federal agencies to make lists of private companies that could be investigated for their DEI policies, according to USA Today.

The campaign is anchored by Executive Order 14151, titled "Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing".
