The clip includes a scripted exchange in which Trump allegedly compares the Iran conflict with the Vietnam War, calls the journalist a “fake reporter,” and tells them to leave.

Claim: Trump argued with a reporter about US war with Iran

Trump has had several heated exchanges with reporters. Recently, an alleged conversation between Trump and a reporter about the Iran war went viral on social media.

An X user shared a post claiming that Trump confronted a journalist over the US-Iran conflict reaching six months. The alleged exchange focused on Trump's previous statements about ending the conflict within days or weeks.

The post also claimed that Trump compared the conflict with the Vietnam War before calling the journalist a “fake reporter” and telling them to leave.

The post began with the alleged exchange: “Journalist: ‘You have been at war with Iran for six months now.’ Trump: ‘Well, we were in Vietnam for 21 years.’” The journalist then allegedly accused Trump of misleading Americans by saying the conflict would end within two days, 10 days, or a month.

The post continued with another alleged exchange in which Trump said, “Be quiet. You’re a fake reporter.” The journalist allegedly responded, “You have to apologize to the citizens. You are a serial liar.” Trump then allegedly said, “Get out of here.”

The claims appeared in the context of the ongoing US-Iran conflict, which began after strikes in February 2026 and has involved periods of fighting and cease-fire efforts.

Fact Check: False; no such conversation happened

The claims and the alleged confrontation are false. The video uses a static image of Donald Trump speaking at a podium and carries a clear “Satire” watermark. No authentic press conference or verified recording matches the scripted exchange shown in the viral post.

The US-Iran conflict began on February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran.

By late August, the conflict had reached the six-month mark. The fighting has included periods of intense military action, a ceasefire in April, a June agreement aimed at supporting further negotiations, and renewed fighting after that agreement broke down.

Trump initially predicted that the conflict would last about four to five weeks. By August, the war had continued for six months, while Trump made various statements claiming that the conflict was winding down or that an agreement was close.
