WASHINGTON, DC: A photograph showing President Donald Trump and rapper Nicki Minaj together in pink outfits inside a car has been circulating on social media platforms. The photo posted by the rapper herself came after she praised the president, sparking backlash. Let us analyse the authenticity of the image and fact-check it.

Claim: Nicki Minaj poses with Donald Trump in pink outfit

Nicky Minaj on Monday, February 16, took to X to post a picture of herself with the president, both wearing pink outfits inside a car, along with cash in her hand.

The post that came with a caption saying, 'Happy Presidents Day,' is viewed by almost four million people as of this writing and has garnered almost a hundred thousand likes.

Some of the comments claimed the photo to be generated using Artificial Intelligence, while others appeared to believe it was authentic.

Fact Check: The image is AI-generated

The photo, however, is not authentic and is generated using AI. A reverse image search showed that the earliest version of the photo was shared a week ago on Instagram by a content creator by the name Shad Culmer.

The account’s bio describes itself as ‘AI GENIUS,’ suggesting that the image is AI-generated. The account includes several such AI-generated images featuring actors and celebrities.

A fact check by Grok also confirmed the image to be AI, stating, “These images of Nicki Minaj and Donald Trump in a car, wearing pink and handling cash, appear to be AI-generated. They show common AI traits like overly smooth textures and an implausible scenario, with no confirming real-world sources from my checks.”

Minaj has recently drawn attention for expressing views that signal a political shift.

The rapper has publicly supported voter ID laws and praised President Trump, positions that contrast with some of her past criticisms of him during his first term.

At a recent Trump-related event, Minaj reportedly referred to herself as 'probably the president’s number one fan,' as she joined him on stage, adding that public criticism only motivates her to support him more.

She also said she won’t let people bully him and claimed God is protecting him. The remark quickly circulated across social media and sparked mixed reactions.
