Fact Check: Did Warren Buffett praise Trump’s recent economic policies as ‘best he’s seen’ in 50 years?

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Friday, April 4, to share a video that claimed longtime Democratic billionaire Warren Buffet had praised his economic policies as the "best" in more than half a century.
However, Berkshire Hathaway, Buffet's company, where he serves as the chairman and the CEO, shared a press release shortly afterwards, stating that such a claim was not true.
This happened after Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on Wednesday, April 2, on approximately 90 nations across the world, which left the stock market reeling in its wake.
According to Fortune, approximately $6 trillion has evaporated from the market since the announcement.

Claim: Warren Buffet said Donald Trump is 'making the best economic moves he’s seen in 50 years'
The video shared by Donald Trump on Truth Social was posted on X by a user with the account name AmericanPapaBear, who alleged that the POTUS was cratering the stock market on purpose.
The economic move of imposing sweeping tariffs, which has been widely criticized, was meant to force Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell to cut interest and mortgage rates, the video argues.

“Trump is purposely crashing the stock market by 20% this month, but he's doing it on purpose. And this is why Warren Buffett just said Trump is making the best economic moves he's seen in over 50 years," states the voiceover in the clip, per ABC News.
Berkshire Hathaway debunks claim
Warren Buffet's company was quick to debunk the claim, stating, "There are reports currently circulating on social media (including Twitter, Facebook and TikTok) regarding comments allegedly made by Warren E Buffett. All such reports are false."

Buffet himself told CNBC on Friday that he wanted the rumors about him to be swiftly debunked, adding that he will not be commenting on the market, economy, or tariffs until Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting that is slated for May 3 takes place.
Internet calls out misleading video
Netizens reacting to the misleading video trolled it for spreading false information.
"Just more misinformation to brainwash the cult," wrote a user.
"I guarantee you Trump doesn't know how to play chess. And probably not checkers either," jibed another.
