WASHINGTON, DC: The White House is undergoing a major and controversial renovation under President Donald Trump's second term, centered on the construction of a grand new State Ballroom.

The project, announced in July 2025, involved demolishing the historic East Wing, starting in October 2025, to make way for an approximately 90,000-square-foot addition featuring ornate classical design.

Recently, a rumor circulated online claiming that President Trump has repeatedly expressed a strong interest in establishing a permanent Carl's Jr franchise on the North Lawn of the White House. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out below.

Claim: WH issues memorandum proposing installation of Carl's Jr franchise on North Lawn

On Sunday, March 1, an X account @roguesnradvisor shared an image of an internal memorandum from the White House. It read, "This memorandum formally proposes the installation of a Carl’s Jr. franchise on the North Lawn of the White House, on a section currently used for the annual Easter Egg Roll."

It further mentioned, "The President has requested this installation verbally on no fewer than thirty-seven (37) occasions over the past six weeks, most recently during a National Security Council meeting on [redacted], at which point he interrupted a briefing [redacted] to ask, 'When are we getting the Carl’s Jr.?'"

"The National Security Advisor attempted to redirect the conversation [redacted] until the matter [redacted], to which the President responded: 'I’m not doing anything about [redacted] without leaving the building. Obama probably had one. Obama had everything,'" the memorandum also mentioned.

Describing the background, it explained, "The President's current fast food supply chain involves a rotating team of three (3) junior staffers who make an average of 4.2 fast food runs per day to various establishments within a 3-mile radius of the White House."

Fact Check: False, the post originated as satire

The claims made in the online posts are false, as the memorandum shared is entirely fictional and satirical, and not a real White House document.

The provided content is from the parody series, as the earlier Carl's Jr's memo shared by @roguesnradvisor on X. The memo is styled as a 'TOP SECRET // NOFORN // ORCON' internal memo proposing an on-site Carl's Jr franchise on the North Lawn, with details about Trump's fast-food preferences and logistical absurdities.

Moreover, searches across news sources, White House records, and official channels show zero mention of any real proposal, memorandum, or plan to install a Carl's Jr on the White House North Lawn.

Meanwhile, recent White House news involves unrelated topics, like a large ballroom addition, but nothing about fast food on the grounds.
