The rumor emerged after an image showing the 62-year-old standing in a public area with a baby bump began circulating online, sparking speculation that former President Barack Obama's wife was pregnant.
“Michelle Obama spotted in France with a baby bump,” one post on X reads.
The image has spread across Facebook, Instagram, X and Threads, with some users suggesting that it is authentic and that the pregnancy claim is true. Meanwhile, others have remained skeptical and called for a fact-check of the viral rumor.

The claim is false. The image has been fabricated, and there is no credible evidence to suggest that the author of 'Becoming' is pregnant.
There have been no official statements, press conferences or social media posts from the Obamas announcing a pregnancy.

A reverse image search using Google Lens revealed that the original photos were shared on Instagram by Jenny Bird, a Canadian contemporary fashion jewelry and lifestyle brand, more than a year ago.
The original post was accompanied by the caption, “@michelleobama steps out in the Mega Faye Knockers and a monochromatic look. Styled by @meredithkoop.”
A fact-check by Grok also identified the image as fake, stating, “No. Michelle Obama is 62 and not pregnant. Mid-October 2026 videos show her with toned flat abs. No credible reports exist of any pregnancy. The photo appears edited from her April 2025 LA outing in the same olive outfit.”
