However, Sandler’s name is not mentioned in the files, nor does his name appear anywhere near Wasserman.
The files show flirtatious exchanges between Wasserman and Maxwell years before her criminal conduct became public.
In one message, Wasserman wrote to Maxwell, "I think of you all the time. So, what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?"
Other emails include references to massages and a discussion of an upcoming visit, in which Maxwell asked whether it would be foggy enough 'so that you can float naked down the beach and no one can see you unless they are close up?' Wasserman replied, 'or something like that.'
Casey Wasserman expresses regret as his name appears in the files
In a statement released Saturday, Wasserman said he 'deeply regret[s]' the correspondence, which he emphasized occurred 'long before her horrific crimes came to light.' He added that he 'never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.'
"As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane," Wasserman said. "I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them."
Following the release of millions of additional pages of records linked by the Justice Department to Epstein last month, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the release also included more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images.
The decision came after weeks of criticism that the department was not following a federal law passed in November, which required all Epstein-related files to be made public by December 19.
