LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Casey Wasserman, chair of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics organizing committee has apologized for emails he exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell.
The Hollywood power broker's explicit and flirty correspondence with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein's one-time girlfriend surfaced Friday, January 30.

Hundreds of emails were released Friday, January 30, as part of roughly three million Epstein-related documents unsealed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
In emails dating back to 2003, Wasserman and Maxwell, who has been convicted as Epstein's accomplice, discussed “massages,” “rubbing,” and naked beach escapades.
Wasserman attempted to distance himself from both Maxwell and Epstein in a statement issued after the documents became public.
“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,” Wasserman said in a statement to the New York Post.
“I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” he added.
“As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them,” he concluded.
That 2002 trip aboard Epstein’s plane was previously reported in a 2003 Vanity Fair article
Flirty exchanges while married
At the time of the exchanges, Wasserman was less than two years into his marriage to his now ex-wife, Laura Ziffren.
On April 1, 2003, he sent Maxwell a message that read, “Where are you, I miss you. I will be in NYC for 4 days starting april 22… can we book that massage now?”
Maxwell, who said she was in Brazil at the time, responded with a rather raunchy reply. “all that rubbing — are you sure you can take it? The thought frankly is leaving me a little breathless,” she wrote.
In another March 2003 exchange, Maxwell told Wasserman that she thought of him at “inappropriate moments.” To which Wasserman replied, “I think of you all the time… So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?"
The emails show she often signed off with “Kisses,” while Wasserman ended messages with “xoxo.”
A Hollywood heavyweight
Wasserman, 51, is the grandson of legendary movie mogul Lew Wasserman and runs Wasserman, a major sports, music, and entertainment company.
He represents top-tier music acts, including Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, and expanded his influence by acquiring music agency Paradigm in 2021, bringing Billie Eilish onto his roster.
VIP guests at his 600-person 50th birthday party in Santa Monica in June 2024 included former President Bill Clinton, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Gov Gavin Newsom, and Doug Emhoff, the husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Notably absent from the guest list was Maxwell, currently serving a twenty year-sentence.
Last year, Newsom appointed Wasserman, alongside Magic Johnson and LA Dodgers chairman Mark Walter, to lead recovery efforts following devastating Los Angeles fires.
