Outrage as Billie Eilish is hit in the face with object during Arizona concert: 'That is horrifying'
GLENDALE, ARIZONA: Billie Eilish had an object thrown at her while performing on stage at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday, December 13, as per People.
The incident was captured on camera and has since gone viral across social media platforms, with fans of the pop icon calling out the unknown perpetrator for the disturbing action.
What was thrown at Billie Eilish?
Billie Eilish was sitting cross-legged on stage performing her song 'What Was I Made For?' when an object, which appeared to be a bracelet, struck her in the face.
The crowd gasped and booed in outrage, but after initially flinching and turning her head away, the 22-year-old maintained her composure and continued to sing, casually tossing the object aside.
This was not the first time a fan had thrown an object at Eilish, as she told The Hollywood Reporter in July 2023 that she had been getting hit on stage by objects over the last six years.
"People just get excited, and it can be dangerous," she explained while trying to dissuade concert-goers from such behavior.
"It’s absolutely infuriating when you’re up there. I have mixed feelings about it because when you’re up there, it blows. But you know it’s out of love, and they’re just trying to give you something. You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for years," the 'Bad Guy' crooner shared at the time.
Eilish is not the only artist who has faced this issue, as stars such as Wiz Khalifa, Nicki Minaj, Harry Styles, and Pink have all been hit by objects while performing on stage, as per People.
Fans rage as concertgoer throws object at Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish's fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration over the concertgoer's actions.
One wrote, "That is extremely horrifying that someone would throw something at such a good person. Personally, I think Billie is a great singer, so this is a real shock to me. How dare that person do that, I mean come on!" and another observed, "She handled that gracefully, as always."
"Whoever did that should be in jail. Right now," demanded a person.
An individual expressed, "And of course, they threw it during one of her most loved songs. I can’t fathom why these people spend their time and money to ruin things."
"That’s really disgusting doing this to artist," one more remarked.
