Fact Check: Is Disney planning a movie on Charlie Kirk?
BURBANK, CALIFORNIA: A rumor has been circulating on social media platforms claiming that Disney Studios is planning a movie on the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The claim has sparked speculation among online users, who are questioning the rumor's authenticity. Let us analyze the origins of the claim and fact-check the rumor.
Claim: Disney is planning a movie on Charlie Kirk
The rumor spread through an image that appears to show Disney's upcoming theatrical slate of movies for 2026 and early 2027, which included a film set for November 6 titled ‘Charlie Kirk,’ named after the conservative activist who was assassinated in 2025.
The image has spread across various social media platforms such as X, Facebook, and Reddit, with some interpreting it as Disney's legitimate plan for upcoming films, while others dismiss it as fake or clickbait.
Fact Check: The claim originated as a satire
The rumor is false, as there are no official announcements or updates from Disney or Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the non-profit organization co-founded by Kirk.
A search on Google for the claim also does not yield any credible results from prominent news media outlets, which, if true, would have been widely covered.
Moreover, the image originated from a post on X and the Instagram handle of a satire account called ‘Daily Noud,’ which describes itself in its bio as “the #1 Source For Hip-Hop/Viral News Across The Planet."
'These are fake stories,' the Daily Noud account description said on X, and a similar description can be found on Instagram as well.
A reverse image search found real photos of Disney’s CinemaCon 2026 slate, including one taken by Associated Press photographer Chris Pizzello. This suggests that Daily Noud likely edited an existing image by replacing the original film Wild Horse Nine with ‘Charlie Kirk.’
Trump honors Charlie Kirk legacy
President Donald Trump returned to Phoenix on Friday, April 17, to honor the memory of Charlie Kirk, the "fearless warrior" and friend whose political legacy continues to grow.
Speaking at TPUSA's 'Build the Red Wall' event, Trump declared that while a "cruel and vicious" act took his friend's life, the movement he sparked is now more powerful and "roaring" than ever.
Standing before a massive crowd at Dream City Church, Trump marked a poignant return to the "great state of Arizona, with the hardworking, God-fearing patriots of Turning Point Action and Turning Point USA."
"Standing here today is clear to see that Charlie's voice is not silenced; it's roaring and roaring back louder, frankly, than ever before," Trump expressed.
