Fact Check: Is Jelly Roll performing at Turning Point USA's All-American Halftime Show?

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Rapper and singer Jelly Roll has become the center of social media attention after a viral Facebook post claimed that he would be performing at Turning Point USA's upcoming All-American Halftime Show.

The post was shared by the page Echoes of Brandon, and which quickly gained traction, sparking widespread curiosity and speculation among fans.

According to the post, the rapper reportedly said they would bring back "real stories, real hearts, and real hope" with TPUSA's Halftime show.

The Facebook post in question noted that Brandon Lake, the former member of Bethel Music and Maverick City Music, shared a message with his fans about the alleged performance.

The post says that performing at the All-American Halftime Show is not about "fame or rivalry," instead, it is about "faith" and reminding people that God "moves through music.”

The post quickly went viral, garnering nearly 200,000 reactions and over 16,000 comments.

Fact Check: False as post in question is from fan page and not official account



 

However, the post turned out to be fake. Neither Jelly Roll nor Brandon Lake has announced their involvement in the upcoming All-American Halftime Show, and TPUSA has not released any official lineup details. There is also no confirmation about Erika Kirk hosting the event. 

Echoes of Brandon, the Facebook handle to which the viral post is attributed to is actually a fan page dedicated to the rapper. The page has a history of spreading false information and fake news. The page is also known to use AI-generated images to spread fake news.

Earlierm, TPUSA announced that they would organize an All-American Halftime Show on February 8, next year. This is during the same day as the Super Bowl Halftime Show, as a protest to Bad Bunny being named the headliner.

Further information, including where it will be held, who will perform, ticket prices, and whether it will be livestreamed, has not been confirmed yet. However, TPUSA has asked its supporters to fill out a form to help decide who will perform. More updates on the All-American Halftime Show are expected soon.
