Fact Check: False, no such announcement from Trump

Trump's promise if Republicans win midterms

During a keynote address at the Republican Party's midterm convention in Dallas, Trump announced a $5,000 "Trump dividend" for every American adult if Republicans win the midterm election.

“So if the Republicans win, you win with us, and you get $5,000. It will be called the Trump dividend,” the president told attendees.

When asked about congressional approval of the fund, Trump told CBS News, “We think not.” He added, “I think they will do it if we needed it.”
