According to a rumor circulating on X, Facebook, and Instagram, Zohran Mamdani was spotted attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.

The posts have drawn mixed reactions from netizens, with many claiming that Mamdani is a Taylor Swift fan in private.

Meanwhile, the claim also drew criticism, with many condemning his alleged presence and questioning the involvement of a politician, while others remained skeptical and questioned the authenticity of the viral claim, prompting a fact-check.

Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

The claim, however, is false, as there are no credible reports confirming that Mamdani attended the wedding.

A Google search for the claim yielded no credible reports from prominent news or entertainment outlets covering the wedding to support it. If the claim were true, it would likely have been widely reported.

A review of Mamdani’s social media accounts also did not show any posts related to the speculation.

Additionally, the claim originated from a satire account on X called ‘Daily Noud,’ which describes itself in its bio as “Fake News.”

A fact-check by Grok confirmed this, stating, “This is a fake, satirical post from the parody account DailyNoud (which openly states its stories are fabricated for viral engagement). There is no credible report that NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s real wedding events at Madison Square Garden.”

According to a 2021 report by The New York Times, a dozen of Swift's songs made it onto Mamdani’s “Top 100” playlist that year.

His office shared the playlist with The New York Times after he mentioned one of her songs at a news conference last month, where he said he would not be attending Swift's wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden.

“I wish them a lovely wedding,” he said at the conference, referring to Swift and Travis Kelce. “I'll listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own."

The report also noted that Mamdani, who is widely known for his love of hip-hop, met his wife, Rama Duwaji, the same year those songs appeared on his playlist.
