NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has officially acknowledged her personal relationship with Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade in a court filing on Friday, as per The Daily Caller.

This came as earlier this month, the court documents filed by Michael Roman, a co-defendant of Trump, Willis, who has brought charges related to election interference against Trump, is accused of engaging in an "improper" affair with Nathan Wade, whom she hired to assist in prosecuting the 2024 GOP front-runner.

Roman and his legal team argue that the alleged impropriety should disqualify her from the case.

Following this news, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on the news as many people on the internet took a brutal jab at Willis.

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “FANI FOLDS: Fulton County DA Admits Relationship With Special Prosecutor On Trump Case; Report.”

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website which reported that Fani Willis has officially confirmed her personal relationship with Nathan Wade.

However, she denied of any financial benefit from the relationship.

In a motion filed on January 8, a co-defendant of former Donald Trump claimed that Fulton County DA Fani Willis improperly benefited from awarding prosecutor Nathan Wade a lucrative contract.

The motion alleged that Wade financed vacations for Willis using money earned from his position, asserting that this constituted grounds to disqualify Willis and dismiss the case.

In response, Willis argued on Friday that their relationship does not present a conflict of interest and has never provided her with any financial benefit.

The filing read, “While the allegations raised in the various motions are salacious and garnered the media attention they were designed to obtain, none provide this Court with any basis upon which to order the relief they seek.”

In an affidavit attached to the filing, Wade stated that his relationship with Fulton County DA began to develop in 2022, and at the time of his appointment, they had no relationship other than being friends.

He pointed out that expenses for personal travel were roughly divided equally between them.

On Friday, Willis told the superior court that despite the 'salacious' nature of the allegations against her, she contends they hold no 'merit'.

Willis asserts that although she and Wade “have been professional associates and friends since 2019, there was no personal relationship” between them in November 2021 at the time of Wade's appointment.

She contends that Roman and his lawyers provide no support for their insistence that any prosecutorial discretion, such as charging decisions or plea recommendations, in this case was influenced by any personal relationship.
