HOUSTON, TEXAS: Pop icon Beyonce endorsed the Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris by attending a high-octane rally in Houston, but fans were disappointed as she did not perform.

Beyonce said that the country was on the "brink of history" as Harris warned Texas' near-total abortion ban could become the law of the land if GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is elected, per the Guardian.

Beyonce told the crowd in Houston, "For all the men and women in this room, and watching around the country, we need you. It's time for America to sing a new song."

The pop star added that she was not there as a celebrity but as "a mother who cares deeply about the world... a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies."

She added, "A world where we’re not divided. Our past, our present, our future, merge to meet us here. Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, and no limitations. Imagine our grandmothers, imagine what they feel right now. Those who have lived to see this historic day."

Beyonce also said, "H-town! We are so happy to be standing here on this stage as proud country Texan women, supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris."

She went on to praise Harris, describing her as a woman "who’s been pushing for what this country really needs right now: unity. It’s impossible not to feel the energy in this room—the positivity, the community, the humanity."

Internet trolls Kamala Harris as Beyonce does not perform in her rally

Many online users mocked Kamala Harris, pointing out that Beyonce’s absence from the stage at the Houston rally disappointed fans, who claimed they were there for her performance rather than to support Harris.

People also shared their reactions to Beyonce's speech at the rally.

One user wrote on X, "And she didn’t even perform? That’s the main reason people showed up!" while another added, "People are there for a free Beyoncé Concert not for Kamala."

One social media user commented on the disappointment of rallygoers who had hoped for a Beyonce performance, saying, "They got tricked into a free Beyonce concert that didn't happen! All those hours in line for nothing!"

A person also stated, "Using celebrities to fill seats now? Desperation looks rough." Another mentioned, "She’s the only reason anyone showed up."

Some people also reacted to Beyonce's speech, saying, "Beyoncé doesn’t pay the bills! We need real leaders! Who cares what she thinks!"

A person also mentioned, "Bruh. Everyone there got played. She kept saying 'sing' and 'song' but all they got was Kamala."

Another added, "She is being booed at her own rally, Maybe it's time that they realize that Kamala is simply not very skilled at this particular thing."
