First Lady Jill Biden turned 73 on Monday, June 3. The wife of President Joe Biden, a college educator, is known for her fashion sense with her classic attire choices over the years. During her previous role as second lady of the United States for eight years and as the First Lady, Biden was clad in designs by contemporary designers like Reem Acra, Vera Wang, Gabriela Hearst, Sergio Hudson, Markarian, and Christian Siriano. As Biden celebrates her birthday, here is a look into her fashion evolution.

1. Southern Inaugural Ball 2009

Jill Biden wore a red strapless gown at the 2009 Southern Inaugural Ball that celebrated President Barack Obama's inauguration. The then-second lady's gown, designed by renowned designer Reem Acra, made a fashion statement with its flowing skirt.

2. Mother's Day 2011

The then-second lady joined her husband, Joe Biden, for the Commander-in-Chief's Inaugural Ball at the Walter Washington Convention Center in January 2013. At the event celebrating President Barack Obama's second term's inauguration, Jill wore Vera Wang's flowing, glossy blue gown and fastened it with a black waistband.
