Flavor Flav and Alexis Ohanian pay Olympian Veronica Fraley's rent, Internet calls them 'heroes'

PARIS, FRANCE: Flavor Flav and Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian have helped Olympian Veronica Fraley pay her rent after she took to social media and wrote she could not afford to pay it.

"I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent 😒," wrote the discus thrower who is a student at the Vanderbilt University.

"My school only sent about 75% of my rent while they pay football players (who haven’t won anything) enough to buy new cars and houses," she concluded her post.

Flavor Flav's swift response to Veronica Fraley's plea

Upon seeing Fraley's post, Flavor Flav rushed to offer his assistance.

The rapper, who is a supporter and sponsor for the US women's water polo team, commented, "I gotchu, DM me and I’ll send payment TODAY so you don’t have to worry bout it TOMORROW and imma be rooting for ya tomorrow LETZ GO."

He then shared a screenshot to confirm he sent the payment within an hour. "Man of word and Imma try and come by and support you in person tomorrow. LMK what time," wrote Flav.

Alexis Ohanian extends support to Veronica Fraley

The wave of support for Fraley did not stop with Flav as Reddit co-founder and entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian also contributed to the athlete's cause.

In response to Fraley's post, Ohanian shared a receipt of a $7,760 transaction he sent to her and Flav called him an "absolute hero," according to People.

In a separate post, Flav wrote, "Man of my word!!! This is what I been saying and promoting with water polo. I can’t fix everything on my own, but right now I am."

After Flav and Ohanian stepped up to help Olympian Fraley pay her rent, netizens rallied to applaud their generous act.
