PARIS, FRANCE: Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, is always ready to support her, even if it means holding an umbrella!

The couple attended the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, where Ohanian was captured on a Eurosport broadcast.

In the clip, Alexis Ohanian walked behind Serena Williams, carrying a large umbrella to shield her from the rain.

The commentator, Laura Woods, did not recognize Ohanian and remarked about Serena having an "actual umbrella holder" behind her.

Despite the viral mix-up, Ohanian embraced his new title with humor.

A social media post highlighted the mistake, writing, "TV commentator: ‘Serena Williams even has her own personal umbrella holder.’ FYI… the ‘umbrella holder’ is Alexis Ohanian, her husband. He’s one of the founders of Reddit," adding a ghost emoticon. This post was retweeted by Ohanian.

Later, Alexis Ohanian quipped about the remark in an Instagram post, writing, "Olympia. Serena. Serena's Personal Umbrella Holder. Let the games begin! I'll be watching a lot of T&F to soak up @athlos inspiration."

Williams and Ohanian have been married since 2017 and share two daughters: Olympia, six, and Adira, 10 months.

Ohanian made sure to keep their daughter Olympia dry during the rainy ceremony.

He uploaded an Instagram Story selfie of the father-daughter pair watching the opening ceremony, where Olympia wore a clear poncho over her white dress.

Ohanian and Olympia even got to watch Williams participate in the opening ceremony.

The tennis champ was one of the final torchbearers, arriving at the Olympic cauldron alongside Rafael Nadal, Carl Lewis, and Nadia Comăneci, US Weekly noted.
