Flavor Flav's fans slam NBC after he's 'kicked' out of 2024 Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hip-hop legend William 'Flavor Flav' Drayton Jr was "kicked" out of the 2024 Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The incident unfolded during the star-studded event, hosted by Kelly Clarkson and broadcast on NBC, which featured a performance by the Backstreet Boys. 

Following the drama, he addressed it in a now-deleted tweet on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, December 4. But his fans didn’t hold back and were quick to share the screenshot of the post before the legend deleted it and circulated it online.

What happened to Flavor Flav at 2024 Rockefeller event?

The 65-year-old rapper Flavor Flav was eagerly anticipating a fun night at the 2024 Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony, looking forward to watching The Backstreet Boys and other performances. 

However, the legendary artist, who was initially present at the event, was later escorted off the premises by security. In a now-deleted tweet on X, Flav shared his confusion, writing, “ I feel weird,,,I was invited to the rockefeller Tree Lighting tonite and I was escorted to see my boys,,, THE BACKSTREET BOYS,,, and we were backstage in their dressing room,,,security came up tp me and says @nbc does not want me in this area and I need to leave.” 

He continued, “At the same time,,, their social media woman came up and asked me to capture social content.” 

Flav then questioned NBC, writing, “What did I ever do to NBC or anyone,,?? All I ever do is try to spread joy and love,,, and I think I did that for NBC at the Olympics.” 

While the tweet was quickly deleted, fans swiftly shared it online. Flav later posted another tweet acknowledging the removal, telling his 200K followers, "I deleted the tweet... but my spirit is broken.” The post gained significant attention, with over 1M views, 1.2K comments, 17K likes, and 1.2K reposts.  As of December 5, neither NBC nor The Backstreet Boys have commented on the incident.

After discovering Flavor Flav's deleted comment on X, several of the rapper's fans quickly shared supportive messages online, urging NBC to apologize for the mistake.

One user slammed NBC, "@nbc is extremely weird for this. Flavor Flav doesn’t bother anyone and just spreads positivity. A shame!"
