DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA: A 21-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot President Donald Trump at an upcoming rally in Daytona Beach, prompting an investigation involving the US Secret Service and the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

Allison Albro's social media post flagged by Secret Service
According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, Albro posted a message on social media suggesting she planned to attend Trump's rally and shoot him.
The post reportedly included a selfie-style photograph and the caption: "Going to a trump rally in my city tmr so I can (redacted) him with my flock! wish me luck guys !!"
The post was flagged by the US Secret Service, which contacted the sheriff's office's Domestic Security Unit. Deputies subsequently went to Albro's residence in Daytona Beach to investigate the alleged threat.
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood addressed the incident in an X post, warning people against making similar threats online.
We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president. Allison Albro, 21, Daytona Beach, is learning that the hard way. She posted this last night and got a visit from the @VolusiaSheriff Domestic Security Unit and the @SecretService. She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon, and she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device. I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a “joke” along these lines to think twice. VSO continues to work hand in hand with the Secret Service, FBI and all our law enforcement partners to ensure this presidential visit to Daytona Beach is a safe event for all who attend, and for our whole community.

According to the arrest report, Albro told deputies she was emotionally upset and knew why law enforcement officers had come to her home.
She reportedly described the social media post as "obviously a joke" and said she did not own a Glock, disliked guns and would never hurt anyone. She also admitted that she did not like the president.
Albro told deputies that her mother had advised her to remove the post after warning her that she could face arrest over it, according to the report.
Authorities searched her residence but did not find any weapons inside.

He also cautioned others against treating such statements as jokes, adding that the sheriff's office was working with the Secret Service, FBI and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the president's visit remained safe.
