TEXAS, FLORIDA: Online platforms are abuzz with discussions surrounding the possibility of Republicans removing the 46th and current US president Joe Biden from the Texas ballot.

The hashtag #RemoveBiden is currently trending on Twitter.

This follows the news that a Tampa attorney has lodged a federal lawsuit against the Florida Democratic Party (FDP), per Florida, Phoenix

The lawsuit was filed in response to the FDP's decision to list only President Joe Biden's name on the ballot for the March 2024 presidential primary election in Florida, leaving out other Democrats who are challenging the President for the party's nomination.

'Should Republicans remove Biden from the Texas ballot?'

On Tuesday, December 19, Dan Patrick, the Republican Lieutenant Governor of Texas, reportedly issued a threat to exclude Biden from the state's ballot, per Daily Beast

This appears to be a reaction to a ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that disqualified former President Donald Trump from the state's 2024 presidential race due to his involvement in the insurrection on January 6.

Patrick expressed these views on Fox News, explaining to host Laura Ingraham that this potentially unprecedented move was a response to Biden's border policies.

He stated that the sole deterrent to the plan was the Texans' belief in democracy.

"Seeing what happened in Colorado makes me think—except we believe in democracy in Texas—maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing eight million people to cross the border since he’s been president, disrupting our state," Patrick stated.

There's been a flurry of activity on social media, with numerous Republicans advocating for Biden’s removal from the "Florida Ballot."

Anthony Sabatini, Former Member of the Florida House of Representatives, tweeted, "REMOVE BIDEN FROM THE FLORIDA BALLOT NOW!"

Another individual tweeted, "Should Republicans remove Biden from the Texas ballot?"

A user questioned Anthony Sabatini, "Based on what evidence."

Another slammed Sabatini and asked, "For what???? I don’t remember him instigating an insurrection! You MagaMoron!"

"If the Florida Supreme Court decides that after some case that reaches it, okay, but you're going to need to find a case that gets that far. Good luck with that," stated another.

"Then what's the difference between Democrats and Republicans?" someone else asked.

"Is there a reason attached or just because?" wrote another.
