NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joe Concha, a contributor for Fox News, predicted that Gavin Newsom will not become the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028, arguing the California governor lacks a clear political message beyond attacking Donald Trump.

Speaking during a primetime segment on Friday, March 6, Concha said he was willing to make a firm prediction about Newsom’s political future.

“We save tapes around here, right? I'm willing to say this now. National television, big audience, primetime,” Concha said. “Gavin Newsom will not be the nominee in 2028.”

Concha calls Newsom 'a pathological narcissist'

Concha sharply criticized the California governor’s political ambitions, accusing him of pursuing the presidency out of personal ambition rather than policy goals.

“I'll make a pretty obvious observation as to why he is a pathological narcissist, as we just saw in all those clips,” Concha said.

“He will say or do anything to be president of the United States. And the thing is, it's not to better the country. It's because he's like Hillary Clinton. He believes he's entitled to sit behind the resolute desk in the Oval Office.”

The commentator also questioned what message Newsom would campaign on if he runs for president.

“Outside of trolling Trump, what's he running on?” Concha asked. “It's not his record in California.”

Concha argued that Newsom has increasingly relied on media appearances to promote himself politically, including interviews and podcasts.

“So now he's reduced to going on D-list podcasts with Katie Couric,” Concha said, referring to the veteran journalist.

He also compared Newsom to other Democratic figures he said struggle to maintain voter enthusiasm.

“The problem with Gavin is it's much like it is with Kamala Harris,” Concha said, referencing Kamala Harris.

Concha further claimed Newsom was expanding his media appearances in an effort to build support.

“And now he's going on Hasan Piker's podcast next. Talk about desperation,” he said.

Poll shows Harris leading among Democrats

During the segment, Concha also pointed to polling that suggested Newsom could face difficulties within his own party.

Citing a survey from Harvard-Harris Poll, he said Harris currently holds a significant lead over Newsom among Democratic voters.

“Latest poll out from Harvard-Harris, Kamala Harris beating Gavin Newsom by 15 points,” Concha said. “When you're trailing Kamala within the party, that's a bad thing.”

Kaylee McGhee White says 'be wary of Newsom'

Separately, conservative contributor Kaylee McGhee White echoed criticism of Newsom during an appearance on 'The Ingraham Angle' with host Laura Ingraham.

White argued that Newsom faces a political dilemma because his policy record may not resonate nationally.

“The problem is he can't run on his record because his record is disastrous,” White said.

She also suggested the governor avoids attaching himself too strongly to specific policies.

“I'm a little bit wary of Gavin Newsom because I do think that he's a political chameleon,” White said.

“He doesn't want to attach himself to a certain set of ideas because he wants to be able to change and shift along with public opinion.”
