Gal Gadot reveals she never received Tom Cruise’s famous coconut cake
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gal Gadot learned about Tom Cruise’s famous coconut cake tradition during her appearance on ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.’ She revealed that she has yet to receive one of Cruise’s cakes, despite briefly working with him on the 2010 film ‘Knight and Day.’
During the Monday, August 31, episode, Dax Shepard asked Gadot if she had ever received a cake from Cruise. Gadot gently shook her head no. She then asked, “What cake? He makes cakes?”

Shepard explained that Cruise sends the same cake to everyone, though Monica Padman corrected him by saying, “Not everyone!” Shepard clarified that Cruise tends to gift a coconut cake to “a large percentage” of the people he works with.
Gadot said she and Cruise did not have a longstanding working relationship. “I worked with him for one night,” she said, referring to ‘Knight and Day.’
She then reassured Cruise that she was not concerned about missing out. “Tom, it’s fine! It’s okay, I can take it,” Gadot said.

Gadot continued to assure Cruise that she did not need a coconut cake. She explained that she does not like cakes and would rather have chocolate. “I don’t like cakes, it’s fine. I like chocolate,” she said.
Shepard explained why Cruise’s cake has become a notable gesture in Hollywood. He described it as “a fun thing in Hollywood” and said that, within a friendship circle, the goal is to know someone who gets the cake and then try it.
Shepard also revealed that he got to try Cruise’s cake last year. He said he has never been gifted one himself because he and Cruise have never worked together.

PEOPLE noted that Gadot previously praised Cruise for inspiring her to push herself for the film. In an interview with Men’s Journal, she said she channeled Cruise’s “energy” for the Prime Video drama.
After working hard on the physical elements of the film, Gadot ended the project on crutches.
She said the production worked around it and had to do some reshoots for material they had missed. ‘The Runner’ premieres globally on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 2.
