Katy Perry shares never-before-seen photos with boyfriend Justin Trudeau from 42nd birthday trip

Katy Perry spent her 42nd birthday surrounded by nature alongside the love of her life, Justin Trudeau. The carousel opened with Perry looking cheerful in glasses and climbing gear, attached to climbing hooks as she prepared for an adventure. “Climbed to level 42 this week!” she wrote in the caption. Reflecting on turning 42, she added, “Was feeling indifferent about the in betweenness of age 42… Then it was explained to me that 42 is actually the answer to everything. Though I still don’t understand, I’m OK with turning 42 as long as I can turn 42 with you back to living…”

In the next photo, Justin Trudeau is seen standing on a similar rocky mountain surface, smiling while also wearing climbing outfits and gear alongside Perry. The duo have been dating for over a year. They were first spotted together in Montreal on July 28, 2025. Last month, Perry spoke to People about the past year, describing her relationship with Trudeau as one of its biggest highlights. “I learned how to step back into my purpose, and I got the greatest gift from this [Lifetimes] tour: I got to meet the love of my life.” Reflecting on their first connection, she added, “I got to meet Justin on tour, and then things shifted.”

In the photo, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau share a kiss while dressed in climbing gear and helmets, surrounded by a vast rocky landscape under a bright blue sky. The birthday celebration comes after Perry's breakup with Orlando Bloom, with whom she co-parents their daughter, Daisy. Reflecting on their nine-year relationship, Perry said, “I wouldn’t have stayed in something for nine years if there wasn’t really important things to learn.” She described relationships as teachers and explained that letting go helped her move forward. Speaking about finding love again with Trudeau, Perry shared that she had always wanted an “epic legendary love.” She recalled discussing it with her therapist, saying, “Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece—then it showed up.”

In another picture, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are seen posing together for the camera after what seems like the completion of their destined climb. The image offered another glimpse of their adventurous birthday getaway amid Utah's rocky mountainous region. Not only does the former Canadian PM accompany Perry on her important days, but the singer previously shared how much Trudeau supports her music career. He attended multiple shows during her tour, something she said meant a great deal to her. “He knows the words, he’s supportive, and he’s in awe; it’s super healing,” she shared. “He is really heart-centred, and I think that we align in that way. I’m so grateful.”

The carousel also featured Perry’s birthday cake, a chocolate-covered treat decorated with fresh strawberries, raspberries, chocolate details, and three candles, with “Happy Birthday” written across the plate. On social media, fans and media outlets joked that Perry makes 42 look like a ‘Teenage Dream,’ playfully referencing her defining 2010 pop era. Meanwhile, the singer has been preparing for the release of her next major single, ‘Watch It Burn.’
