Trump set to attend historic NBA Finals showdown as Madison Square Garden turns into fortress
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: From the first Muhammad Ali–Joe Frazier fight to the first WrestleMania, Madison Square Garden has seen it all. This year, however, it will host its first NBA Finals game in 27 years. With a surprising 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, the New York Knicks have brought the Finals back to their home court for the first time since 1999. Adding to the spectacle, Donald Trump, a longtime Knicks fan, is set to attend the NBA Finals at the invitation of Knicks owner James Dolan, marking the first such appearance by a sitting president. Trump's attendance has turned the area around Madison Square Garden into a high-security zone, with road closures, bag restrictions, and extensive screening measures.
